Creative Direction for the music video Ashitaka and San by Joe Hisaishi. This song is a pivotal part of Mononoke Hime, the classic film by Studio Ghibli’s Hayo Miyazaki. The concept of this MV was to bring the audience to a deeper connection to Hisaishi-san’s music and nature.
Working with Japanese arist, Lisa Kogaawa, the creative plays with shapes and a delicate balance of shadows and light. In order to bring a deeper connection within the song. The plants Lisa drew are from her extensive research and sketches of plants that actually exist in Yakushima, Kagoshima (where Mononoke Hime’s forest was inspired by).
